📣 The local government system is very young in Nepal. It enacted✒️ a new constitution in 2015 with a federal structure of government by decentralization of power to 07 provinces, allowing power and authority 👏 to the local communities to govern themselves and make decisions that directly affect their lives.
💥📢 Nepal is very disaster prone country, especially for earthquake. In 2015, a severe 7.8 magnitude earthquake struck near the city of Kathmandu and about 9,000 people were killed, many thousands more were injured, and more than 600,000 structures in Kathmandu and other nearby towns were either damaged or destroyed.
⛑️🔊 Every earthquake leaves us with the lesson that it’s unstoppable, but preparedness is the best way to fight and respond to the ensuing the crisis.
