Building on the wealth of resources developed by the Sphere community, the Sphere Project office has put together an aimed at supporting such efforts.
The toolkit compiles a number of resources designed by Sphere trainers to quickly bring aid workers (both international and local staff) as well as local officials up to speed on the Sphere Project approach and on how to use Sphere standards.
The tool is meant for organisations, trainers or anyone else willing to carry out Sphere trainings in emergency settings. It includes resources in English, French and Spanish.
The training materials included in the toolkit will help introduce Sphere principles and standards to a public unfamiliar with the Sphere Handbook. They vary in terms of length, presentation and learning approach.
All the resources will need to be adapted according to the context of the workshop, the participants’ needs and the time available.
This toolkit should not be seen as a final product. It is a first compilation of community-produced tools that are in principle suitable to support Sphere training in emergencies. It will gradually evolve, incorporating new materials received from the Sphere community. Trainers are invited to submit content for the emergency training toolkit and enrich it with their own resources.
