About Jim Good

I have been designing and leading workshops relating to disaster management, refugee emergency response, contingency planning, workshop and training design, and field security for the last 22 years.

In the early 1990s, I wrote and developed numerous training materials for the UN DMTP (Disaster Management Training Programme) and developed and ran the global UNHCR EMTP (Emergency and Management Training Programme), a two-week-long training programme in approximatley 20 countries around the globe. I developed much of the early training materials for the Sphere project and have participated in many Sphere workshops over the years.

I conducted a 6-week intensive coaching on training and developed Sphere-based training in Afghanistan with a training team funded by the American Red Cross and hosted by the ACBAR Afghan NGO consortium. I continue to use Sphere in ongoing trainings, and have developed the Sphere Technical Course package that is available for free use to all, downloadable from the Sphere website as well as the Interworksmadison.com site.

Sphere Contractor: Jim and his colleague, DeVon, were contracted by Sphere between 2018 Q4 and 2019 Q1 to create the Sphere Training Package 2018 edition.
